In Loving Memory of Evelyne Abramovici (May 6, 1951 - August 7, 2026)
Evelyne Abramovici, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Paris, France, Evelyne brought warmth, grace, and kindness wherever life took her. She was the type of person everyone could turn to for understanding, patience, and empathy. Family, friends, and colleagues alike knew her as a trusted confidante, a compassionate listener, and someone who always made others feel valued, supported, and loved.
In 1973, Evelyne married the love of her life, Julien Abramovici, beginning a partnership that would span more than five decades. Together they moved to Groton, Connecticut, where Evelyne shared her passion for languages as a French and Spanish teacher at a private high school. Later, the couple settled in New Jersey, where Evelyne began her career at BASF. Through dedication, professionalism, and hard work, she built a remarkable 36-year career before retiring in 2016.
While she was proud of her professional accomplishments, Evelyne's greatest joy was always her family. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with those she loved, creating memories that will be cherished forever. She enjoyed reading, shopping, watching her favorite television shows, and, above all, traveling the world through cruising.
Retirement allowed Evelyne to fully embrace her love of travel. She became an avid cruiser, carefully planning countless adventures with her husband, Julien, and cherished annual mother-daughter cruises with her daughter, Jessica. Cruising was more than a hobby for Evelyne; it was a passion that brought her joy, adventure, and treasured family memories. Her enthusiasm and loyalty earned her elite status with multiple cruise lines over the years.
Those who knew Evelyne will remember her gentle spirit, her caring heart, and her ability to make everyone around her feel heard and understood. She approached life with kindness, patience, and quiet strength, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Evelyne was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Abraham Schacher and Batia Schacher (Ghelman), whose love, guidance, and values helped shape the remarkable woman she became. Their memory remained close to her heart throughout her life, and their legacy lives on through the family they cherished.
In her final years, Evelyne faced cancer with remarkable grace, courage, and resilience. Throughout her journey, she continued to demonstrate the strength, dignity, and compassion that defined her life. By her side every step of the way was her devoted husband, Julien, whose unwavering love, care, and support provided comfort through the most difficult moments. Together, they faced each challenge hand in hand, their enduring bond serving as a testament to the deep love and commitment they shared for more than 53 years.
Evelyne is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Julien Abramovici; her beloved daughter, Jessica Abramovici; her brother, Jean-Marc, and his wife, Corrine; their children, Elena and Alexis; and her brother-in-law, Barney, and his wife, Luigia.
Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we find comfort in the love she shared, the values she instilled, and the countless memories she created. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and in the many lives she touched through her generosity, compassion, and unwavering love.
