Gutterman Brothers Funeral Directors – Four Generations of Tradition

Abraham Gutterman came to this country and built a livery business on the Lower East Side. In 1892 that business became A. Gutterman Undertaker, the first Jewish-owned funeral business in Manhattan.

Four generations later, and now into its third century, Gutterman Brothers, Funeral Directors is a Jewish funeral home owned and operated by Abraham’s direct descendants, serving the Jewish communities of Hudson and Morris Counties in New Jersey, with pride and respect. Gutterman Brothers is independently owned and operated by the Gutterman Family.

TRADITION and FAMILY – these are foundations of our heritage. It is with great pride that we, as a family, can provide outstanding service to the Jewish community in times of need. We focus on the importance of the customs and practices of Jewish burial and the manner in which the Jewish community should be treated. We are committed to providing you with the personal service that your family deserves and expects.

We will always help you to make sound decisions to accomplish the task at hand of caring for your family member in a dignified and respectful manner.
